An interactive discussion with the community was held at the District Six Homecoming Centre on June 11. Hosted by the Community Chest of the Western Cape, the District Six Museum and the One City, Many Cultures Project, the event was the final in a series of discussions around Cape Town titled, “The South Africa We All Want to Live In.” District Six Museum director Bonita Bennett and Ryland Fisher, founder of the One City, Many Cultures project, moderated the discussion. The purpose of the discussion series was to change the way conversations happen in the community and find out what changes South Africans want in society.
