Pop-up Cinema, in collaboration with Retro Afrika Bioscope held a free screening and market in the Company’s Garden on Wednesday January 2. People gathered at the garden to enjoy some food, drinks and play at the event before cuddling up in their blankets on the lawn to watch Joe Bullet, the first independent South African film ever made. It was released in 1973, but was banned by the Apartheid government. The film was upgraded digitally and was screened for the first time after 40 years.
