Cape Town Opera welcomes four new Young Artists

Cape Town Opera has welcomed three new singers to their Young Artist Programme and welcomed back Lwazi Dlamini (baritone) as the fourth Young Artist for 2022.

The three incoming Young Artists are Monica Mhangwana (mezzo-soprano), Alida Stoman, (soprano) and Van Wyk Venter (baritone).

The Cape Town Opera Young Artist Programme is a training and employment programme for exceptionally talented postgraduate singers.

The two-year programme is devised to hone the potential of these singers and groom them for a professional career by strengthening their technique and refining their stage skills.

Graduates of the programme include Pumeza Matshikiza, Cecilia Masabane Rangwanasha, Golda Schultz and Vuvu Mpofu.
