On Friday July 27, Cape Town Central police conducted crime prevention operations with other security role-players, including 28 police officers, 64 members of the Central City Improvement District, 28 law enforcement officers, four Metro police officers, 14 ADT security officers, seven traffic officers and members of the Oranjezicht and Green Point neighbourhood watch.
During the night, police arrested 38 people for drug-related crime and confiscated 12 dagga “joints”, 15 bags of dagga , six units of mandrax, four units of unga, and one small packet of tik. A man was arrested for being in possession of a car breaking implement, and another arrested for theft out of motor vehicle.
On Thursday July 26, the City’s law enforcement auxiliary officers arrested a man in Adderley Street for being in possession of eight bags of dagga. The man was taken to the police station where he was arrested and charged with possession of drugs.
On Sunday July 22, law enforcement officers arrested a woman for one unit of unga in Strand Street.
The woman was taken to Central police station and charged with possession of drugs.
