■ The book of remembrance for Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, who died on Monday at the age of 81 after a long illness, will be at St George’s Cathedral every day from 7am to 5pm, until the day before her funeral. In a Facebook post, Dean of St George’s Cathedral, Reverend Michael Weeder, wrote: “The shrine of memory and love for Mama Winnie is where you can bring flowers throughout the day in honour of this stalwart who held aloft the flickering flame of freedom in the darkest of our days. May she know the bliss of paradise.” An interfaith service in memory of Winnie Madikizela-Mandela is being planned for 6pm, today, Thursday April 5, at the Cathedral.
