People came out in their numbers to support the rally for protection of religious freedom at Church Square on Thursday February 1. The rally was organised as a plea to ban coercive conversion by pastors and forced conversion programmes following the murder of a Korean woman, who was suffocated by her parents. Ji In Gu was trying to escape from a coercive conversion programme her parents forced her to join, involving abduction, confinement and assault. Following her death last month, thousands of Korean citizens gathered at a memorial and protest to rally against protection of religious freedom.
