The 50-year-old man accused of raping a 14-year-old girl at a Loop Street modelling agency will appear in the Cape Town Magistrate’s court tomorrow, Tuesday July 7.Â
Police say the man will appear for his bail application.Â
Cape Town Central police spokesperson, Captain Ezra October, said the teenager’s mother allegedly dropped her off at the agency for a photo shoot on Wednesday June 24 and when she picked her up, she told her mother that she had been raped.Â
He said police acted on a tip-off from the community, and searched the premises, where they found “disturbing” media of children.Â
Captain October said the police were looking for other victims and urged them to contact the investigating officer Detective Sergeant Graham Davids on 082 522 1086.
Meanwhile, Cape Town Central police arrested a 28-year-old man on Wednesday July 1 for drug dealing on the corner of Strand and Adderley streets.Â
Captain October said police conducted an operation following complaints from the public about illegal activity and loitering in the area opposite the Absa building in Adderley Street.
They confiscated 14 bank bags of dagga and two half tablets of mandrax, as well as R1 041 cash.Â
