Curro Foreshore held an intensive Python Coding Bootcamp from Wednesday February 19 to Friday February 21, in partnership with Amazon Web Services and NGO International Certification in Digital Literacy (ICDL). The bootcamp aimed to equip pupils with skills for careers in the fourth industrial revolution. Throughout the bootcamp, Grade 9 pupils gained exposure to Python, a general-purpose coding language that can be used in web development, data analysis, artificial intelligence, and scientific computing, among others. Pupils will be required to take a test during one of their Information Technology lessons. If they pass the test, which requires a pass mark of 75%, they will receive an internationally-recognised qualification.
