The Zip Zap Circus School celebrated its 25 anniversary with a show last Saturday, where youth got to perform for the first time ever on the Zip Zap stage alongside their circus role models in the show titled 25 years: An Acrobatic Walk Down Memory Lane. “The children from our Simunye programme who featured in the show were overjoyed and amazed at the response from the audience,” said Brent van Rensburg, the co-founder and artistic director at Zip Zap Circus School. The non-profit Zip Zap Circus School, based in the city centre, works with children from all backgrounds, Zip Zap’s programmes are all free to participants, with financial and material support coming from individuals, organisation, corporations and foundations.
