Theo Mitchell said: Its been close to 10 years since I have been at Cape Town station and I see this. There are rumours that trains were also burned due to protests.

Jade Trimalay said: The train situation was already messed up last night. I had to make other arrangements to take a taxi which is also a problem because everyone else took taxis, which meant it took long to get home.

Whaseem Harris said: I have been waiting here since 7.30am and its now almost 9.40am. I stay in Stellenbosch which is very far. I dont know what time Im going to get home. I already bought my monthly ticket, so it would cost me extra to now buy a bus ticket.

Commuter Lusanda Manyosi said: This morning I waited for a hour for a train and nobody said anything so I didnt know what was happening. We were waiting in Bellville to get here and now they say that we should use the buses because there are no trains. Some of us only have a daily return ticket so we cant use the bus.
