Speedcubing champ

■ One of America’s top speedcubing entertainers, Anthony Brooks, wowed the crowd at the Two Oceans Aquarium on Friday December 2 as he solved speedcubes in seconds, with one hand, and even without looking, all while submerged in the I&J Ocean Exhibit surrounded by sting rays, a giant turtle and a giant guitarfish, among other sea life. Mr Brooks holds the record for completing a Rubik’s cube in 6.42 seconds, and a Guinness World Record for solving five Rubik’s cubes underwater in a single breath. Mr Brooks was in the country to attend and compete at the speedcubing competition, held at the Cape Town Science Centre in Observatory on Sunday December 4.
