Indian Naval Ship Tarkash docked at the V&A Waterfront on Thursday June 21 from her last port of call at Port of Walvis, Nambia. The INS Tarkash is a part of the Indian Navy’s Western Fleet, also called the Sword Arm of the Indian Navy based at Mumbai, on the West Coast of India. The ship departed her base port at Mumbai in India in April this year along with the Western Fleet. The ship gets its name from a Sanskrit word meaning a “Quiver” of arrows, reminiscent of the battles in the epics Ramayana and Mahabharata. PICTURE: THAIS ACKERMAN
