Shave, spray or stencil your hair for cancer support

The 17th Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) national Shavathon will be held at various shopping centres countrywide, on Saturday February 29, with the theme “Hope 2020”.

Participants can show solidarity with those battling cancer by stencilling, spraying or shaving their hair.

You can also donate a ponytail to make a wig.

Some venues will be offering events on Sunday March 1. Adults pay R50 and children under 12 R25 to participate.

Proceeds go towards Cansa’s care-and-support programmes for patients, caregivers and loved ones.

To host an event, organisers must register and order Shavathon products through the Shavathon eShop at www.shavathon.org.za.

Anyone can host an event; it is not limited to workplaces, organisations or schools.

The deadline for registration and orders is Friday February 21. There are early bird discounts for orders placed by Friday January 31.

Registered hosts’ events will take place from Monday March 2 to Friday March 6 and they are encouraged to challenge 20 potential hosts to organise a Shavathon event.
