Darling Street and surrounds have traffic restrictions in place due an event marking the 30th anniversary of former president, Nelson Mandela’s release from prison.
The restrictions started at 1am today and will continue until 10pm tomorrow night.
Currently, no vehicles are allowed to stop in front of City Hall between Parade and Corporation Streets.
From 9am, Darling Street will be reduced to two single lanes.
Then, from 6pm, Darling Street will be closed to traffic between Lower Plein and Buitenkant Streets until the conclusion of the event the following day. Also, from this time, no parking will be permitted in Corporation Street and Parade Street.
