Pennies for Princesses

The seventh annual Pennies for Princesses Women’s Day fund-raiser, hosted by Cape Community Newspapers, which publishes CapeTowner, was held at Cape Point Vineyards, in Noordhoek, on Saturday August 12. Speakers at the event included entrepreneur Terine Lott-Cupido who spoke about what it takes to start one’s own business; lifestyle blogger Melissa Thomas who spoke about her journey from being anorexic to bulimic to living a healthy life; clinical psychologist Carin-Lee Masters who spoke about her work as an advice columnist and the importance of showing compassion; and musician Trudy Rushin who spoke about the transformative power of music. Radio personality Guy McDonald was the MC and the beneficiary of the R50 000 raised through ticket sales was St George’s Home for Girls in Wynberg.
