Man nabbed with illegal firearm

A Vektor was confiscated in the Cape Town CBD.
A man was arrested after he was found in possession of an illegal firearm on the corners of Wale and Loop streets in the Cape Town CBD on Saturday August 10.

Earlier, the man had been involved in a violent confrontation in Riebeeck Street.

Law enforcement officers, who were on patrol, responded to the scene and found that the suspect had already left.

They searched the area and spotted the suspect walking towards Loop Street.

They approached him and found an illegal Vektor firearm with one round of ammunition in his possession.

He was arrested and taken to the Cape Town Central police station, where he was charged for the illegal possession of a firearm and live ammunition.
