The Fair Cape Cares Foundation held a business breakfast at Atlantic Imbizo in the Waterfront’s Clock Tower building on Friday October 14 to mark the first anniversary of the Fair Cape Cares Foundation, a charity drive to raise R 400 000 for beneficiaries chosen by the company. The company established the Fair Cape Cares Foundation earlier this year after the Operation Smile bottle cap recycling initiative, which raised funds for children with a cleft lip or cleft palate by collecting and recycling bottle tops, became very successful. The charities that are supported are Operation Smile, the Cancer Alliance, Little Fighters and the Peninsula School Feeding Scheme.
Joel Serman of Fair Cape said the charities were chosen because they wanted to make a change in people’s lives.
He said the R400 000, which will be raised by on-pack projects and events by Fair Cape, will be donated directly to the organisations or be put in a trust. He said the pink on-pack projects are in honour of Breast Cancer Awareness month, marked in October
