The Castle of Good Hope opened its doors to the public for free as part of Cape Town’s Heritage Day celebrations on Saturday September 24. The doors opened at 9am, with a full programme of cultural events, traditional dancing, free visits to the Iziko museums at the Castle and cannon demonstrations. There were also horse rides for the children. Some people visiting the castle took part in the festivities and dressed up in traditional clothing.
