■ The famous Safmarine House on the corner of Riebeeck and Long streets has been converted from offices into a Radisson Blu Hotel and Residence.The opening of the 214-room hotel was announced on Monday April 24, and is currently the highest residential building in the city centre. Safmarine House was designed by architect Louis Karol. The building’s famous triangle at the top is a prominent feature of the Cape Town skyline and can also be seen in our CapeTowner masthead.
