■ St Lucia-based adventurer Gaven Sinclair embarked on an adventure on a lifetime when he departed KwaZulu-Natal on Friday September 1 last year for an unsupported trail run, covering four African countries in 230 days. He covered 4000km and arrived in Cape Town at the V&A Waterfront on Friday April 20. And while Gaven is an extreme endurance adventurer at heart, his trips are all in the name of charity. His goal was to raise awareness and funding for Missing Children South Africa. A previous fund-raising adventure saw him cycle the length of Africa, from Cape Town to Cairo, covering more than 10 000 km over 261 days.
