Belly dancers showcase their shimmies at festival

Belly dancers of all ages graced the amphitheatre stage at this year’s Oriental Dance Festival.

The Aphrodite Belly Dance Studio in collaboration with the Bella Donnas Dance School hosted the third Cape Town Oriental Dance Festival at the Waterfront amphitheatre on Saturday October 29.

Supporters came out in numbers to watch as belly dancers form as far as George, Gqeberha and Langebaan showcased their choreography.

Of the proceeds, R6 000 was donated to Skye’s Wooden Spoon, a feeding scheme in Eastridge, Mitchell’s Plain.
