The World Art gallery will host a textile art exhibition, called Untangled, which will explore and re-imagine sustainability and consumption in contemporary art and design production processes. The exhibition will open on Thursday February 6 as part of First Thursdays at 6pm, until Thursday February 27. Participating artists include Francis Burger, Dannielle Clough, Gina Waldman, Sibabalwe Ndlwana, Nkuli Mlangeni-Berg, Sandi Gilman, Lizette Chirrime and Yemi Awosile. There will also be an additional event called Wine+Weave and Beats, a creative weaving workshop where visitors can learn textile making through hand-loom weaving and design tapestry textile using a beginners weaving hand loom. This will take place on Saturday February 15, from 11am to 4pm at the gallery. Tickets cost R700 and includes a weaving kit (including a hand-loom with its weaving tools which you will get to keep), materials that you will use, wine and non alcoholic options and light snacks.
