Car enthusiasts came out to watch the annual Drift City competition in the Grand Parade yesterday.
The competition, which acts as the unofficial qualifier for the Gymkhana Grid competition with Ken Block, featured 32 drivers including including two female drivers.
The race organisers managed to bring in one international driver Dan Cross. Locally, some of the drivers are from Brackenfell, Grassy Park and Strandfontein.
The City increased sponsorship to R150 000 towards services and free usage of the Grand Parade.
This year’s event drew in a larger number of spectators compared to last year.
