Don’t miss Whisky Live at The Lookout, Granger Bay, from Thursday April 6 to Saturday April 8.
Joining the Whisky Live circuit is The Pogues, the official Irish Whiskey of the legendary Celtic rock band, together with West Cork Irish Whiskey. Jameson’s Caskmates – aged in craft beer barrels – and the Irish Potstills of Midleton will also be presented by knowledgable whiskey masters.
Curious newcomers and would-be connoisseurs can scan whisky bottle labels and receive all the information that they need through the Whizzky Whisky Scanner App. They can download Whizzky Whisky Scanner, answer a few easy questions and get five extra tasting vouchers at Whisky Live.
You can also taste a range of cocktails at the Consol Pop-up Whisky Cocktail Bar, look out for Maker’s Mark with its distinctive, red-dipped bottle for a fine Bourbon or taste a range of premium Scotch whiskies including Islay whiskies, Bruichladdich, Dalmore, Jura, Laphroaig, Ardbeg and Bunnahabhain. Versatile Scotch blends on offer include Glenbrynth, Dewars, Monkey Shoulder and Scottish Leader. Speyside and Highland fans shouldn’t miss The Macallan Fine Oak, Glen Grant and Glenmorangie. Did you know that Three Ships released a world’s first 15 Year Old Pinotage Cask made right here in SA? Taste it at Whisky Live if you’re lucky enough to get a dram of the very limited samples on offer. Bain’s Cape Mountain Whisky and Three Ships will be presented by Master Distiller, Andy Watts.
Tickets cost R200 at ticketpro.co.za or R230 at the door and include 16 whisky tasting vouchers, a glass, a Consol Glass bottle of water and a cocktail from the Consol cocktail bar.
