Burlesque concert to raise money for a good cause

The Grand Exhibition – an international Burlesque Benefit in aid of Rape Crisis will take place at Centre for the Book, in Queen Victoria Street, on Saturday October 26 at 7pm.

The aim of the event is to unite the burlesque community for a good cause and funds raised from the event will be donated to Rape Crisis Cape Town Trust.

The first Grand Exhibition took place in Cape Town in 2015 and has raised over R100 000 for Rape Crisis over the past four years.

More than 40 burlesque dancers will take to the stage, from seasoned professional solo performers to troupe members from Cape Town’s longest standing burlesque companies.

There will also be a burlesque market, live music, raffles, and prizes to be won.

Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 8pm. Tickets cost R200 and can be bought through Quicket.
